Last Chance Radio Logo Design Contest

Design Guidelines
Entries must reflect the unique spirit of Last Chance Radio, Helena Community’s independent and creative radio voice. Designs should be bold, distinctive, and resonate with the station’s identity as a student-driven, community-minded, alternative broadcaster.
All logo submissions must include the following text elements:
- “Last Chance Radio”
- Optional tagline (e.g., “Student Sound. Community Voice.”) – but not required
- Optional tagline: Last Bastion of radio
Designs must be:
- Original: No copied material, clipart, or derivatives of existing logos
- Handmade or digitally illustrated: AI-generated artwork, stock images, pre-made templates, or tutorial-based designs are not allowed
- Vector-based only: No raster (pixel-based) graphics, dingbats, or embedded images
- Created in Adobe Illustrator CS5 or newer (preferred), or a compatible vector format like .AI, .EPS, or .SVG
Design requirements:
- Minimum dimensions: 10" wide x 11" tall
- Use CMYK color mode with assigned spot colors
- Limit design to no more than 4 ink colors
- No embedded textures, TIFFs, or bitmap images
- Design should be legible and functional across print, web, and merchandise
- Avoid excessive detail or effects that won’t scale well
Submission Process
- Deadline: October 20, 2025
- Submit entries via email or in person to Nathan Munn at Nathan.munn@helenacollege.edu
- Include in your email:
- Your full name
- Contact information
- A brief description of your design and concept
- Preferred file formats: .AI, .EPS, or high-res layered .PSD (if necessary)
- You may submit multiple entries, but each must be in a separate email
- Finalists will be required to provide original editable source files
Intellectual Property & Ownership
By submitting a design, participants confirm:
- The artwork is entirely original and does not infringe on any copyright or trademark
- No elements of the design were created using AI or pre-made assets
- The winning design becomes the exclusive property of Last Chance Radio, including all reproduction, modification, and distribution rights
- Non-winning entries remain the intellectual property of the designer
Judging Criteria
Entries will be judged based on:
- Originality and creativity
- Relevance to the mission and identity of Last Chance Radio
- Visual impact and clarity
- Adaptability across media formats
- Technical quality (vector compliance, file setup)
A panel of judges, comprised of Last Chance Public Radio Board, radio station staff, and design professionals will review submissions. All decisions are final. Entries violating contest rules will be disqualified.
